Food Programs Print E-mail

The Salvation Army in Modesto provides multiple food programs to assist those in need.
  • Noon meals are served Monday through Friday at the Modesto Corps and breakfast is served on Saturday mornings. On average, we feed 150 people each day.
  • Grocery Assistance: Families and individuals in crisis are provided with one week's supply of groceries upon verification of their need. We are also a USDA commodity site where low income families or individuals can come to one of 32 distribution sites throughout the county on the third Friday of each month for government issued commodities. To sign up for this program, please call our food warehouse at 577-3600 and speak to Betty Wycoff.
  • Parole and Community Team (PACT): We provide commodities on the second and fourth Thurday each month to individuals who have recently been released from prison and are paroled in Stanislaus County.

They’re coming to us for a safe place to play. To learn, to grow into young men and women of character. These are kids from families with parents who worry about them after school — some of them might even be your neighbors. The Red Shield Center in Modesto provides what kids need most: guidance, security, friendship.
